Boulder Creek Hometown Fair

On Saturday, we took a drive to Boulder. First, we drove through the University of Colorado area. We drove up a mountain and the scenery was beautiful. The first picture shows the University campus to the right and downtown Boulder to the left. Then we went to Boulder Creek's Hometown Fair, which was a small fair Boulder had along a creek in the park downtown. The big event was making a zuchinni on wheels and then racing it. Alexis just loved it - her zuchinni is the 2nd from the right and it got stuck part way down with another zuchinni but with daddy's help it did make it to the finish line. She said her zuchinni was a caterpillar. She tried to walk it around the fair but the one wheel broke off - what a screaming fit - but after daddy assured her that he would fix it when we got home, he took it to the car to take a nap and we went on with the fair. She also rode the barrel train and many, many moonwalk jumpers and slides. Alexis and daddy waded in the creek when the sun got hot and daddy pointed out the minnows to Alexis so she tried to catch them. However, after a little while it dawned on her that they were fish and she wanted to leave because she told us that they have teeth and were going to bite her. After the fair, we found one of the many fine dining restaurants in downtown Boulder and then we found Pearl Street, which has many great shops and street performers in the evening. We really enjoyed Boulder and plan to head back there soon for another day trip.
