Weekend of Easter fun!

We had a great Easter weekend, but we missed Nana and Pop Pop Schneck who had planned to come to Denver for Easter...Pop Pop had to have emergency appendix surgery last Saturday...good news is Pop Pop is doing great and they are still coming to Denver just delayed a week...will be here on Friday!

Alexis had an Easter egg hunt at her school on Thursday and had a great time looking for eggs on their playground...Alexis colored eggs for the first time this year at home...we got a Hannah Montanna dye kit and had fun with the dunking, which stained our hands different colors (those metal dunkers just don't really work well), and putting the stickers on the eggs when they dried.Went to Bass Pro Shops on Friday for a little Easter fun...got to see the Easter Bunny and look...she is sitting with him by herself and actually smiling! Got to search for eggs around the store and make an Easter egg ornament. Then Saturday morning was Alexis' first soccer game...considering she was extremely afraid of getting in the mix at practices, she did very well at least staying with the group and chasing the ball...did a few kick-ins and hopes to get a goal next game. After her soccer game, we went to the mobbed egg hunt at the Stapleton Town Center...got a few eggs and some Peeps fighting the crowd...After the egg hunt, we got some Starbucks and then Alexis and daddy played hide and seek at the new rocks by the fountains in the Town Center...Alexis and mommy and Schnapps on Easter (Bailey wouldn't cooperate)...
Alexis posing...we had to winterize her Easter dress...
Alexis went to the basement first thing Easter morning because the Easter bunny thought it would be too cold to have his egg hunt outside...so he hid almost 100 eggs in the basement in every room...(yes, I know, that was way too many eggs, but the Easter bunny didn't realize that until he saw how many bowls that filled)

And here is the candy from the eggs and her Easter baskets! Yes, probably too much...but we stashed away a bunch and are saving some for Nana and Pop Pop's visit on Friday. Alexis with her Easter baskets...the Easter bunny left goodies at Grandmom and Pappy's and Aunt Michele and Uncle Kevin's house too...Nana and Pop Pop are bringing what he left at their house on Friday.
I love this picture...the Easter bunny left bunny areas and Alexis shared them with her sisters:
Then we headed to Coors Field for the Rockies v. Phillies game...too bad the Rockies lost, but we had a great time sitting in the cold and rain watching the game:
Had lunch in the Mountain Ranch Grille overlooking the field:
Cold... Got to see Dinger and the Easter Bunny on one of our warming up walks...Alexis was not too sure of this Dinger dinosaur...

We finally went to higher ground for cover in the 3rd inning and snuggled under our blankets...Alexis must have been warm to fall asleep... Then we had Easter dinner at Texas de Brazil...one of our favorite restaurants...here is Alexis waiting for dessert...
And here are a few videos...her first soccer game...Easter Bunny's egg hunt...doing a handstand flip (she is always doing gymnastics in the living room on her Dora sofa...has a kart wheel down pretty good too)...and a cute one of Bailey with a Peep...

Denver Car Show

We went to the Denver car show last Friday and Alexis had a blast getting in as many cars as she could and pretending to drive...she did like the larger ones better because they are most like the "Relly" truck (Expedition). This is my favorite picture of her pretending to drive this SUV:
Daddy wanted to take this one for Pappy Fillman:
So proud that she is in the driver's seat (she always tells me that daddy is going to save the white expedition for her and is going to teach her how to drive...we will see how that goes...).
And we some one of the Denver Nuggets players there...don't ask me who he was though...

Avalanche Ice Hockey Game

One of the doctors Eric works with hooked us up with 3 6th row seats to one of the last Avalanche games of the season (they won't be going to the playoffs). We had a great time...I enjoyed the Bacardi Mojito bar right outside our door and Alexis enjoyed getting a stuffed dog with an Avalanche water holder...she also liked the puck that Eric got her. Oh, and the game was pretty good although they lost... Alexis and I taking a picture of ourselves...
And one of Alexis' favorite parts was the zamboni...a Coors light Zamboni at this game...sorry the picture is not the greatest...
