Trip to Golden to see a friend!

This week, Alexis and I made a trip to Golden to have lunch with a friend of mine from a job I had in the late 90's in Washington D.C. . . .boy, did she make a great decision to come here to live in Golden...what a neat town and right at the foothills...we had lunch at one of my favorite restaurants...Table Mountain Inn...
Here is Alexis with Winnie in front of the Golden sign...
Me and Winnie behind the bike...that is where Alexis wanted us to stand...And Alexis taking a picture of herself again!

Snow in June...last trip to Estes Park...at least for now...

Relatives of mine have a time share in Estes Park so we took a trip up there one last time before we head to Texas...we just love Estes Park (I think it will be a vacation spot in the future!). My relatives were my dad's cousins, their families, and my great-aunt Marge. We spent the day at their cabin and then enjoyed some wine and cheese before we headed back to Denver. Before we went to their cabin, we drove up to the highest point on Trail Ridge Road (over 12,000 feet)...this first picture is Alexis bored in the car so she decided to take pictures of herself!
Elk we saw while driving on Trail Ridge Road...
View around 11,000/12,000...still snow in June!
Alexis was not in the mood for posing for the camera today...
Finally got her to turn...
Doing gymnastics on this wood...
Alexis wanted to have a picnic in the back of the truck, so we gave her an apple and she was happy...
At the cabin...this is my dad's cousin's husband, Kenny...they were entertaining themselves with a clothespin from their licorice snack...the other entertainment was the birds and Alexis' explanation of all of the birds in the bird book.

At the wine and cheese...Gail and Georgette (my dad's cousins)...
Alexis and me with my great-aunt Marge...Alexis didn't want to pose for the camera again...
Saying good-bye to Kenny and Gail after the wine and cheese...Alexis thought daddy's mouth needed to be covered!

Preschool Graduation!

The first thing you will probably notice in these pictures is that Alexis got her hair chopped off...she loves it and she has gotten so many compliments on it...after battling to brush her hair every morning, she decided she wanted it cut off..

Next, Alexis is in her cap and gown patiently waiting for her preschool graduation... Bringing a flower to her proud mommy...
Oops...I knocked off her hat giving her a hug...on her way to get her diploma...

Getting her diploma...
So proud of her diploma...she thought it was so pretty!

Standing with her friends...just loving that she has this diploma...
Alexis with her classmates...all of the graduates from 4 preschool classes...

San Antonio Fun with Nana!

While Eric and I were house hunting in San Antonio, Alexis and Nana went off on their own and had some fun at Sea World...here is Alexis waiting to feed the dolphins...
Climbing the ropes...Nana didn't dare try this!
Alexis with the penguins...one of her favorite exhibits this time...
With Shamu and a dolphin at the entrance...
Nana and Alexis went on a Shamu ride...looks to me like they had a great time!
Then they had lunch with Shamu...up close and personal...Alexis and Nana really enjoyed this!

Nana had trouble getting Alexis to turn her head because Alexis just kept wanting to watch Shamu...don't blame her!
With a gymnast from the cast of one of the shows...
Alexis' favorite show was the water skiing...Alexis joined the cast!
